2011 MAR Committee Requests Are Now Open

2011 Committe Request Form

Thank you for your interest in volunteering on behalf of MAR members and private property ownership. Please note that since committee sizes are limited, MAR cannot guarentee appointments for all those who submit requests, but we hope to find a suitable position, based on your interest and expertise, either on a standing committee or a future task force, work group or PAG.

MAR’s incoming President and President-Elect typically finalize the committees in November, at which point electronic notifications are sent to all appointed members and committee assignments are posted online.

Committee Descriptions and the approximate number of meetings per year are listed within the request form. Not all MAR Committees are available since the makeup of several committees are specifically determined by the MAR Bylaws.

All members of MAR committees must maintain a working e-mail address as this is the primary mode of communication.

PLEASE NOTE you must submit committee requests each year, even if you are currently serving on a committee. The committee request deadline is July 31st.

Timeline For 2011 MAR Committee Requests

June 1, 2010	2011 Committee Request Form available at http://www.marealtor.com/content/committees.htm
June & July, 2010	MAR Board of Directors, Alternate Directors, Committee Members and Local Association Executives are notified by email that the committee request process is open at http://www.marealtor.com/content/committees.htm. Additional electronic communications will be sent to the general membership via MAR publications, e-blasts and various social media sites.
July 30, 2010	Online committee requests for 2011 close.
August, 2010	Committee requests provided to MAR Staff Liaisons for input.
September, 2010	MAR Leadership Team meet on 2011 Executive Committee appointments. Notification sent to appointees. Executive Committee posted on http://www.marealtor.com/content/committees.htm after annual Board of Director’s meeting.
October, 2010	MAR Incoming President and President-Elect meet on preliminary committee rosters. MAR Chair and Vice-Chair appointments for 2011 finalized and notification sent to appointees.
November, 2010	Final MAR committee rosters released to MAR Staff Liaisons and shared with committee leadership.
December, 2010	Electronic notifications are sent to all committee appointees. Local Association Executives are also provided with a final list and committee rosters are posted on http://www.marealtor.com/content/committees.htm
January 1, 2011	1 year term begins for All MAR committee members.
